Video Types
Why video types exist
Not all short-form videos are created for the same purpose.
Some videos rely on spoken explanation and storytelling.
Others rely on visual mood and atmosphere.
ReelBot supports both by offering two distinct video types, each with a focused creation flow.
The two supported video types
1. With Narration
With Narration is the most complete and commonly used video type.
It includes:
- AI-generated voiceover
- word-level synchronized captions
- B-roll visuals
- optional background music
This type follows the full creation flow: Topic → Script → Voiceover → Assets → Review & Generate
When to use With Narration
Use this type when:
- the message needs explanation
- clarity and pacing matter
- captions improve comprehension
- you want to guide the viewer verbally
Common use cases:
- explainers and tutorials
- educational content
- opinion or insight videos
- storytelling formats
This is the recommended choice for first-time users.
What makes this type different
In this flow:
- the voiceover controls timing
- captions are synchronized using speech marks
- the final video duration follows spoken delivery
This ensures:
- accurate pacing
- readable captions
- consistent delivery across videos
2. Cinematic / Music Only
Cinematic / Music Only is a simplified, visual-first video type.
It includes:
- B-roll visuals
- background music
- no narration
- no captions
This type follows a shorter flow: Topic → Assets → Review & Generate
When to use Cinematic / Music Only
Use this type when:
- visuals carry the message
- mood is more important than explanation
- minimal text is preferred
Common use cases:
- aesthetic or inspirational videos
- visual showcases
- background or ambient content
- brand or product visuals
What to expect from this type
Because there is no narration:
- pacing is driven by visuals and music
- duration is based on selected assets
- captions and voice settings are skipped entirely
This keeps the flow fast and focused.
Choosing the right type
A simple rule of thumb:
- If the message needs to be understood, choose With Narration
- If the message needs to be felt, choose Cinematic / Music Only
You can switch video types when starting a new project, but changing type mid-flow may require resetting steps.
Impact on settings and features
Some features behave differently depending on video type.
| Feature | With Narration | Cinematic |
|---|---|---|
| Script generation | ✓ | — |
| Voiceover | ✓ | — |
| Captions | ✓ | — |
| Tone | ✓ | Limited |
| Music | Optional | Required |
| Assets | Required | Required |
The Video Studio automatically adapts based on the selected type.
Templates and video types
Templates store settings, not content.
This means:
- templates can be reused across video types
- incompatible steps are skipped automatically
- assets are not locked to templates
This keeps experimentation flexible.
The CreatorOps perspective
Video types exist to protect intent.
Instead of forcing all content through one flow, ReelBot provides:
- structured depth when explanation is needed
- streamlined creation when visuals are enough
Both fit into the same CreatorOps system.
