Video Settings Sidebar
What is the Video Settings Sidebar?
The Video Settings Sidebar is where you define the rules for how a video is generated.
Unlike the main flow (Topic, Script, Assets, etc.), the sidebar controls global decisions that affect multiple steps at once.
These settings shape:
- pacing
- tone
- visual consistency
- caption behavior
- brand application
They are intentionally centralized to prevent accidental inconsistencies.
Settings vs steps
A key distinction in ReelBot:
- Steps define content (what is said or shown)
- Settings define constraints (how it should behave)
Changing settings may require regenerating steps.
ReelBot always warns you before this happens.
Quick Start & Templates
At the top of the sidebar, you can access:
- Quick Start templates
- previously saved templates
Templates preload:
- duration
- tone
- caption size
- brand preset
Templates do not include:
- topic
- script
- voice
- assets
This keeps them reusable and flexible.
Duration
Duration controls the target length of the video.
Available options:
- 15 seconds
- 30 seconds
- 45 seconds
- 60 seconds
Duration affects:
- script length limits
- voice pacing
- final video length
Changing duration
If you change duration after:
- script generation, or
- voice generation
ReelBot will warn you and clear affected steps after confirmation.
Tone
Tone defines the style of language used in AI generation.
Available tones:
- Professional
- Casual
- Humorous
- Inspirational
- Educational
Tone affects:
- topic suggestions
- script generation
Tone does not affect:
- visuals
- voice selection
- captions directly
Changing tone may require regenerating topic or script.
Caption size
Caption size controls the visual scale of subtitles.
Available options:
- Small
- Medium
- Large
Caption size affects:
- subtitle readability
- on-screen balance
- accessibility
Caption size changes do not require regeneration and can be applied safely.
Brand Preset
Brand Presets allow you to apply visual identity consistently.
A brand preset can include:
- caption color
- highlighted word color
- logo
- logo size
- logo placement (corners)
If a brand preset is marked as default:
- it loads automatically when entering the Video Studio
Brand presets affect:
- captions
- overlays
- final render appearance
They do not affect:
- script
- voice
- pacing
Orientation awareness
The sidebar respects the selected video orientation.
Asset selection:
- filters by orientation by default
- can be toggled to show all for convenience
This prevents mismatched visuals during generation.
Warnings and step clearing
Some settings are foundational.
When you change a setting that impacts earlier steps:
- ReelBot shows a warning dialog
- affected steps are clearly listed
- nothing is cleared without confirmation
Examples:
- changing duration clears script and voice
- changing tone clears topic and script
This protects your work.
Settings and drafts
All sidebar settings are saved into:
- drafts
- in-progress projects
This ensures:
- consistent regeneration
- predictable resume behavior
Settings persist until explicitly changed.
Settings and templates
Templates capture:
- all sidebar settings
- default behavior for future videos
They do not lock content decisions.
This allows you to:
- reuse structure
- customize messaging per video
Common mistakes to avoid
- Changing duration late in the flow
- Switching tone repeatedly mid-creation
- Ignoring warning dialogs
- Treating settings as cosmetic
Settings are structural, not decorative.
The CreatorOps perspective
In CreatorOps, settings define the system.
By separating:
- what you say (steps)
- how it behaves (settings)
ReelBot allows you to:
- scale creation
- preserve consistency
- regenerate safely
The Video Settings Sidebar is the control panel for that system.
