Account Settings Overview

What are Account Settings?

Account Settings control your personal and security-related configuration in ReelBot.

They define:

  • who owns the account
  • how you authenticate
  • how your identity is managed
  • how your data is protected

Account Settings are global — they apply across all projects, plans, and workflows.

What Account Settings are for

Account Settings exist to:

  • manage identity and access
  • control login methods
  • protect account security
  • handle ownership-sensitive actions

They are intentionally separated from:

  • video creation
  • publishing
  • branding
  • subscription management

What lives in Account Settings

The Account Settings section includes:

  • Account Information
  • Email & Verification
  • Social Login Connections
  • Password Management
  • Referral Program
  • Billing Access
  • Danger Zone (Account Deletion)

Each area controls a specific aspect of account ownership.

Account information

Your account profile displays:

  • email address
  • verification status
  • linked social providers
  • user ID
  • last sign-in activity

This information is read-only except where explicitly editable.

Authentication methods

ReelBot supports multiple authentication methods:

  • email + password
  • Google
  • Apple
  • X (Twitter)
  • Facebook

If a social login is linked:

  • it becomes the preferred login method
  • email verification is handled automatically
  • password login may be optional

Smart login detection

When entering an email during login or signup:

  • ReelBot detects linked social accounts
  • highlights the correct provider
  • prevents duplicate accounts

This ensures a single identity per email.

Password and email management

From Account Settings, you can:

  • change your password
  • update your email address
  • trigger verification flows

Security-sensitive actions require verification.

Referral program access

The Referral Program appears in Account Settings only for paid users.

From there, you can:

  • view your referral code
  • copy your referral link
  • track earned credits
  • see referred users

Referral behavior is documented separately.

Billing access

Account Settings provide access to:

  • subscription management
  • payment updates
  • plan changes

Billing is handled securely via Stripe.

Danger Zone

The Danger Zone contains irreversible actions.

From here, you can:

  • delete your account
  • permanently remove all data
  • revoke access immediately

Deletion removes:

  • projects
  • assets
  • drafts
  • channels
  • subscriptions

This action requires explicit confirmation.

What Account Settings do NOT control

Account Settings do not:

  • affect video quality
  • reset usage limits
  • modify projects
  • change branding
  • publish content

They control identity — not workflows.

Best practices for account management

For safety and clarity:

  • keep your email verified
  • link a social login as backup
  • review connected providers periodically
  • use the Danger Zone carefully

Account Settings are about ownership and trust.

The CreatorOps perspective

In CreatorOps, systems must know who owns what.

Account Settings:

  • establish identity boundaries
  • protect access
  • make destructive actions explicit

They form the foundation every workflow builds on.

  • Authentication & Login
  • Social Login
  • Subscription & Usage
  • Security & Data Protection

Your account is the root of the system — protect it deliberately.
