Signup & Login
Overview
ReelBot supports two authentication methods:
- Email & password
- Social login (Google, Apple, X, Facebook)
Both methods are designed to be:
- secure
- low-friction
- predictable across sessions and devices
This page explains how signup and login behave in each case.
Creating an account (Signup)
Email & password signup
When signing up with email and password:
- You enter your email and password
- A verification email is sent to your inbox
- Your account is created in a pending state
- You must verify your email before accessing the app
Until verification is complete:
- you cannot access the dashboard
- you cannot create videos
- core features remain locked
This ensures account ownership and reliable communication.
Social signup
ReelBot supports signup using:
- Apple
- X (Twitter)
When signing up with a social provider:
- your account is created automatically
- email verification is not required
- access is granted immediately
Social providers verify email ownership on ReelBot’s behalf.
Logging in
Email & password login
If you signed up with email and password:
- Enter your email and password
- If your email is verified, you are logged in
- If your email is not verified, you are prompted to verify first
Incorrect credentials will result in a login error.
Social login
If you signed up using a social provider:
- log in using the same provider
- no password is required
- access is granted immediately
If an account does not exist yet:
- ReelBot automatically creates one
- you are logged in seamlessly
Smart login detection
ReelBot includes smart login detection to reduce confusion.
When you enter your email on the login or signup screen:
- ReelBot checks whether that email is associated with a social login
- the relevant social provider is highlighted
- a hint indicates the preferred login method
This helps avoid:
- password confusion
- duplicate accounts
- failed login attempts
Switching between login methods
Can I use both email and social login?
By default:
- an account is associated with the method used at signup
- email/password and social logins are treated as separate methods
If you signed up with a social provider:
- password login is not enabled unless explicitly added later
This keeps authentication behavior predictable and secure.
Forgot password
If you signed up with email and password:
- you can reset your password via Forgot password
If you signed up with a social provider:
- password reset is not available
- you must log in using the same provider
See Password Reset for details.
Failed login attempts
If login fails, common reasons include:
- incorrect password
- unverified email
- using the wrong login method (email vs social)
ReelBot does not disclose sensitive account details during failed attempts.
Security considerations
Signup and login flows include:
- email verification for email-based accounts
- secure session handling
- protection against account enumeration
- consistent behavior across devices
Authentication behavior may evolve as security standards improve.
The CreatorOps perspective

- clarity over cleverness
- secure defaults
- predictable access flows
