Change Email & Password

Changing sensitive account details

ReelBot treats email address and password as sensitive identity fields.

For security reasons:

  • changes are explicit
  • verification is required
  • nothing updates silently

This protects your account from accidental or unauthorized changes.

Change email address

When you can change your email

You can change your email if:

  • your account uses email/password authentication
  • or you want to update the email linked to your account

Accounts created via social login can also change email, but verification is required.

How the email change process works

  1. Go to Account Settings
  2. Open Change Email
  3. Enter the new email address
  4. Confirm the action

ReelBot then:

  • sends a verification email to the new email
  • keeps your old email active until verification completes

Verification requirement

The new email becomes active only after verification.

Until verified:

  • your account continues using the old email
  • login behavior remains unchanged
  • no data is affected

This prevents lockouts and mistakes.

After email verification

Once verified:

  • the new email becomes your primary identifier
  • login screens reflect the new email
  • future notifications use the new address

No content or settings are impacted.

Change password

When you can change your password

You can change your password if:

  • your account has a password set
  • you use email/password login

If you signed up only with social login, you may not have a password yet.

How password change works

  1. Go to Account Settings
  2. Open Change Password
  3. Enter your current password
  4. Enter and confirm a new password
  5. Save changes

The update applies immediately.

Security behavior

After changing your password:

  • your current session remains active
  • future logins require the new password
  • no other account data is affected

Passwords are never displayed or retrievable.

Forgot password vs change password

It’s important to distinguish:

  • Change Password → authenticated action from Account Settings
  • Forgot Password → recovery flow from the login screen

Forgot password requires email verification via a reset link.

Social login considerations

If your account is linked to a social provider:

  • social login remains valid
  • password login is optional
  • changing password does not affect social login

If no password exists:

  • you may be prompted to set one first

Smart login behavior after changes

ReelBot continues to use smart login detection:

  • entering your email highlights available login methods
  • prevents duplicate accounts
  • guides you to the correct authentication option

Email or password changes update this behavior automatically.

What changing email or password does NOT do

These changes do not:

  • affect projects
  • affect assets
  • reset usage or limits
  • affect subscriptions
  • disconnect channels

Only identity credentials change.

Common issues and tips

Didn’t receive verification email?

  • check spam folder
  • ensure the email address is correct
  • retry the verification flow

Can’t change password?

  • your account may be social-login only
  • use Forgot Password to set one first

Worried about security?

  • change your password immediately
  • review last sign-in activity
  • contact support with your User ID

Best practices

For a secure account:

  • keep your email verified
  • update passwords periodically
  • use strong, unique passwords
  • link a social provider as backup access

The CreatorOps perspective

In CreatorOps, identity changes must be safe, reversible, and explicit.

By enforcing verification and confirmation:

  • ReelBot prevents accidental lockouts
  • protects ownership
  • keeps automation trustworthy

Security is part of the system — not an afterthought.

  • Account Information
  • Email Verification
  • Password Reset
  • Social Logins

Change credentials deliberately — your account depends on it.
