Deleting Projects

What does deleting a project do?

Deleting a project permanently removes a generated video and its associated media from your account.

This action:

  • deletes the video file
  • removes associated project metadata
  • frees up storage usage

Once deleted, a project cannot be recovered.

Why deletion is explicit

ReelBot treats generated videos as long-lived assets.

For that reason:

  • projects are never deleted automatically
  • deletion always requires confirmation
  • there is no bulk or silent removal

Deletion is designed to be intentional and irreversible.

How to delete a project

To delete a project:

  1. Go to Projects
  2. Locate the project you want to remove
  3. Click Delete
  4. Confirm the deletion

Only completed projects can be deleted.

Confirmation step

Before deletion:

  • ReelBot shows a confirmation dialog
  • you are informed that the action is permanent
  • deletion cannot proceed without explicit confirmation

This prevents accidental loss.

What happens after deletion

Once a project is deleted:

  • the video is removed from your Projects list
  • the video file is deleted from storage
  • storage usage is updated immediately
  • the project can no longer be previewed, downloaded, or published

The action takes effect instantly.

What deletion does NOT affect

Deleting a project does not:

  • affect other projects
  • affect drafts
  • affect templates
  • affect connected channels
  • affect usage history

Only the selected project is removed.

Projects vs versions

If you have multiple versions of a video:

  • deleting one version does not affect others
  • each project must be deleted individually

ReelBot does not auto-clean older versions.

Storage and limits

Deleting projects:

  • frees up storage space
  • may reduce storage usage immediately
  • does not restore consumed video generation quota
  • does not restore AI credits already used

Deletion affects storage only.

When you should delete a project

Delete a project when:

  • the video is no longer needed
  • you want to reclaim storage
  • the output is obsolete or incorrect
  • you’ve generated a better version

Deletion is a maintenance action — not part of iteration.

When you should NOT delete a project

Avoid deleting projects when:

  • you may want to reuse the video later
  • you haven’t downloaded a backup
  • the video is still performing on a platform
  • you want to compare versions

Projects are cheap to keep — storage is easier to manage than recreation.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • deleting before downloading a backup
  • deleting the wrong version
  • assuming deletion can be undone
  • deleting during an active edit session

Take a moment before confirming deletion.

The CreatorOps perspective

CreatorOps systems prioritize asset durability.

Deletion exists to:

  • keep libraries clean
  • manage storage responsibly
  • remove clutter — not erase history casually

ReelBot gives you control, but never takes it for you.

Delete intentionally — creation is always harder than preservation.
