Video Generation Issues
What “generation” means in ReelBot
Video generation is the final composition step where ReelBot:
- combines voiceover (if any)
- applies captions and speech marks
- sequences B-roll assets
- mixes background music
- renders the final video
This step is executed by the video composer service and produces a Project.
Video stuck in “Processing”
What it means
The generation request was accepted but has not completed yet.
Common causes
- temporary processing queue delay
- high system load
- long video duration with multiple assets
What to do
- wait a few minutes
- avoid refreshing repeatedly
- allow the polling process to complete
If processing exceeds a reasonable time, refresh once and check status again.
Video generation fails
What it means
The composer attempted to generate the video but failed.
Common causes
- missing or deleted assets
- invalid draft state
- temporary rendering failure
- dependency mismatch (voice, captions, duration)
What to do
- Review the failure message shown
- Ensure all required steps are completed
- Confirm assets still exist
- Retry generation
Failed generations do not consume video quota.
Generate button is disabled
What it means
One or more required steps are incomplete.
Common causes
- no B-roll selected
- voiceover not generated (narrated videos)
- impacted steps cleared by a settings change
- draft restored with missing data
What to do
- review the Review step summary
- complete any missing steps
- regenerate cleared steps if required
The button is disabled intentionally to prevent invalid renders.
Video generated but content is wrong
What it means
The video completes, but output does not match expectations.
Common causes
- outdated draft state
- script changed after voice generation
- assets reordered unintentionally
- brand preset changed late
What to do
- review the Review summary carefully
- regenerate voice or video if needed
- ensure no warnings were ignored
Generation always reflects the last confirmed state.
Regeneration clears previous results
What it means
A regenerated video does not match a previous version.
Why this happens
Regeneration:
- creates a new Project
- reflects current settings and inputs
- does not reuse previous renders
This is expected behavior.
Generation consumes quota unexpectedly
What it means
You believe a generation consumed quota incorrectly.
Clarification
- only successful generations consume video quota
- failed generations do not
- regenerations count as new generations
Drafts and previews do not consume quota.
Polling stops or UI freezes
What it means
The UI stopped updating generation status.
Common causes
- temporary network interruption
- browser tab suspension
- page refresh mid-poll
What to do
- refresh the page once
- navigate to Projects to check status
- avoid starting duplicate generations
Generation continues server-side even if UI disconnects.
Duplicate projects appear
What it means
Multiple Projects exist for the same idea.
Why this happens
- regeneration creates new Projects
- retries after failure create new records
This is intentional for traceability.
Generation fails repeatedly
What it means
Multiple attempts fail consistently.
Common causes
- corrupted asset
- unsupported media format
- edge-case script or asset combination
What to do
- swap one asset at a time
- try a simpler setup
- regenerate from a clean draft
Narrowing inputs helps isolate the issue.
Generation in Cinematic videos
Expected behavior
Cinematic / Music Only videos:
- skip voiceover
- skip captions
- rely entirely on assets and music
Failures here are usually asset-related.
What generation issues do NOT indicate
Generation issues do not mean:
- your content is lost
- drafts are corrupted permanently
- publishing is broken
- billing or limits are affected
ReelBot isolates generation safely.
Best practices to avoid generation issues
- complete all steps before generating
- avoid deleting assets mid-flow
- don’t ignore warning dialogs
- batch similar videos together
- keep drafts clean
Stable inputs produce stable outputs.
When to contact support
Contact support if:
- generation fails consistently with valid inputs
- processing never completes
- quota behaves incorrectly
- errors contradict documentation
Include:
- your User ID
- project ID (if available)
- video type (Narrated or Cinematic)
- duration and asset count
- exact error message
The CreatorOps perspective
In CreatorOps, generation is execution, not experimentation.
ReelBot:
- validates inputs before rendering
- isolates failures
- preserves drafts
- avoids silent quota loss
If generation fails, the system is protecting consistency.
