Understanding the Creation Flow

Why the creation flow matters

ReelBot follows a structured creation flow to ensure videos are:

  • consistent in quality
  • easy to regenerate or refine
  • predictable when scaled

Understanding this flow will help you:

  • move faster through the Video Studio
  • avoid unnecessary regenerations
  • know why certain steps reset when settings change

The two creation flows

ReelBot supports two creation paths, depending on the type of video you want to create.

1. With Narration

This is the most complete flow and the recommended starting point.

Steps:

  1. Topic
  2. Script
  3. Voiceover
  4. Assets
  5. Review & Generate

This flow produces:

  • AI voiceover
  • synchronized captions
  • B-roll visuals
  • optional background music

2. Cinematic / Music Only

A simplified flow for visual-first videos.

Steps:

  1. Topic
  2. Assets
  3. Review & Generate

This flow produces:

  • B-roll visuals
  • background music
  • no narration or captions

Step-by-step breakdown

Topic

The topic defines what the video is about.

You can:

  • enter a topic manually, or
  • generate AI topic suggestions from keywords

The topic influences:

  • the script (if narration is used)
  • the overall direction of the video

Once a topic is confirmed, the flow can move forward.

Script (Narration flow only)

The script defines what is said in the video.

Important details:

  • Script length is automatically adjusted based on selected duration
  • Tone affects wording and style
  • Scripts can be regenerated without affecting later steps

Changing duration or tone may require regenerating the script.

Voiceover (Narration flow only)

The voiceover defines how the script sounds.

In this step:

  • You select a voice (based on the chosen language)
  • ReelBot generates the audio using AI
  • Speech marks are used to synchronize captions accurately

Once the voiceover is generated:

  • captions timing becomes reliable
  • video length is locked to the voice duration

Changing the script or duration will require regenerating the voiceover.

Assets

Assets define what the viewer sees.

This includes:

  • one or more B-roll video clips (required)
  • optional background music (one track)

Key points:

  • The order of selected B-roll clips matters
  • Assets can come from your library, public videos, or AI Studio
  • Music is optional but recommended for polish

Assets can usually be changed without affecting earlier steps.

Review & Generate

This is the final checkpoint before generation.

You’ll see a summary of:

  • video type
  • duration
  • tone
  • captions size
  • selected assets
  • voice and music
  • brand or template settings (if any)

From here, you can:

  • go back and adjust steps if needed
  • generate the final video

Once generation starts:

  • ReelBot composes the video automatically
  • progress is shown until completion
  • the project is saved to your Projects list

How settings interact with the flow

Some settings affect earlier steps in the flow.

Examples:

  • Changing duration affects script and voiceover
  • Changing tone affects topic and script
  • Changing language affects script and available voices

When this happens, ReelBot:

  • warns you which steps are impacted
  • clears only the steps that must be regenerated

This keeps the process predictable and avoids silent changes.

Drafts and progress saving

ReelBot automatically saves your progress as a draft.

This allows you to:

  • leave the Video Studio at any time
  • return later and continue where you left off

Once a video is successfully generated:

  • the draft is removed
  • the project becomes a permanent video entry

Drafts can also be deleted manually if needed.

The mental model to remember

Think of the creation flow as a pipeline:

Idea → Message → Voice → Visuals → Output

Each step builds on the previous one.
When something upstream changes, downstream steps may need to be regenerated.

This structure is what allows ReelBot to scale content reliably.

What to explore next

  • Requirements & prerequisites – what you need before generating
  • Video Settings Sidebar – duration, tone, captions, and brand
  • CreatorOps Concepts – why this structured flow matters

Once you understand the flow, optimizing your videos becomes much easier.
